Richland High School BOMBERS
CHEERLEADING
Richland High School | Richland Washington
THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE TRYING OUT
-
Cheerleading is run like a sport activity. We will work out and run everyday at practice. Cheerleading is a TEAM sport once you make the team you will be needed greatly. The team simply cannot function successfully if you are not fully committed. Just a reminder the Athletic Code Contract is in effect 365 days a year; it is strictly enforced.
-
There are strict social media standards that all cheerleaders must adhere too. Cheerleading is so much fun but it is hard work as well; be prepared to indulge in both!
-
All practices are MANDATORY!
1. All Cheer Team Members will need to take the Leadership Class during the 1st Semester. This may mean that some of you may want to take a zero hour or a summer class to make room in your schedule in order to fill this requirement. Talk to your School Counselor for help with this.
2. Freshmen are encouraged to take the pre-tryout clinic the spring of their 8th grade year. The coach will be able to assess your skills and give you constructive criticism to help with the winter the tryout. Freshmen are going to be allowed to tryout in November for the Winter Season!!!! This will allow freshmen to get used to high school, help build school spirit, have time to increase their cheerleading skills, attend games as a Pep Club, help with fundraisers, Bomber events, sign making and learn what RHS Bomber cheerleaders are expected to do!
3. All fines/fees must be cleared or paid in order to participate.

A NOTE FROM COACH KESHIA
Dear Parents & Prospective Student-Athletes.
This is just a note to introduce myself and to acquaint you with the expectations of a Richland High School Cheerleader. We hope that you, as parents of a prospective cheerleader, are aware of the time and energy it takes to be an effective student leader responsible for guiding student conduct at extra-curricular activities and during the school day.You will need to complete the Athletic Code Contract and other forms in the RHS athletic packet.
All Richland High School Cheerleaders will be expected to abide by these standards and guidelines. Cheerleaders who fail to adhere to the standards and guidelines will have consequences. RHS Cheerleaders will have additional duties, which they will be required to perform throughout the school year. These duties will include (but are not limited to): planning and working as instructors for cheer clinics, cheerleading camp, preparation for homecoming festivities, for games, attendance at athletic district, regional, and state games, and participation in various school and community service projects. A great amount of time and energy will also be asked of the other parents/guardians in providing miscellaneous functions during the year. Your primary role as a cheer parent will be to support your child by helping with over all academic success, fundraisers, transportation, and attending the games to watch your child cheer while supporting Richland Bomber Athletic Teams.
